Cedar Park Community Information

Students in Cedar Park attend the Leander Independent School District which is composed of 24 elementary schools, 7 middle schools and 5 high schools. Area institutions of higher education include Austin Community College, Southwestern University, University of Texas, St. Edwards University, Huston Tillotson College, Concordia Lutheran College, LeTourneau University and MITC (Multi-Institutional Teaching Center). Students score high in reading, writing and math as well as receiving high SAT and ACT scores.

Elizabeth Milburn Community Park is the largest park in the area with 35.84 acres. This park offers a wide variety of activities including a playground, picnic tables and shelters, barbeque pits, a walking/jogging trail, sand volleyball courts, basketball court, tennis courts, washer pits, soccer fields, open field space, baseball backstops, a community garden, 4/10-mile veloway and recreational BMX track and swimming pool.

Springtime in the "Hill Country" is one of the most popular seasons of the year as native Texas wildflowers turn the hillsides into virtual gardens of color. One of the more popular scenic drives, anytime of the year but especially in the spring, begins in Cedar Park and ranges in a circular drive from Cedar Park to Marble Falls on Lake LBJ to Burnet and back to Cedar Park, a total driving distance of 90 miles.

For those who prefer a more active pursuit, the area is home to some of the best golf courses in the state. Crystal Falls Golf Course, an 18-hole municipal course, is located in the scenic canyons just north of Cedar Park. Other courses in the area include River Place, Lago Vista Country Club, Highland Lakes Country Club and Point Venture.

Of course, all of the amenities of a major metropolitan area are just minutes away in Austin. Austin has its own professional symphony, ballet and opera companies; dozens of theaters, dance companies, vocal ensembles, and orchestras producing events year-round.
